
Welcome to the 8th Annual Northeast Fine Arts Exhibition! This exhibition aims to showcase art that embodies the principles of realism, highlighting the beauty of precise representation.
Artworks should fall into one of the various styles of realism from traditional to imaginative. We welcome work that falls under the 7 following categories:
Oil Painting
Watercolor
Sculpture
Drawing (pencil, pen & ink, scratchboard, charcoal)
Acrylic (casein, egg tempera & gouache)
Pastel
Mixed Media

Entry Instructions:
1. Each artist may submit up to three pieces.
2. All work must be originally conceived. Work created in an instructional setting or with help from Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not considered original art.
3.Dimension requirements:
– 2D work maximum H x W (including frame): 40 inches.
– 3D work must fit through a standard height, 36-inch wide door, weigh no more than 100 lbs, and if over 30 inches wide, must come provided with suitable display stand(s).
4. All Accepted 2-D work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang. NO SAW TOOTH HANGERS ALLOWED.
6. Artwork will be blind-juried for acceptance based on the criteria for this show using the image submitted with registration.
7. Accepted work must either be hand delivered or shipped. There will be no online only option.
8. Notifications will be emailed & will be posted at https://www.workshop13.org/exhibitions on July 23rd 2026.
NOTE: The deadline to receive shipped work is 16 days from the date of notification. If you plan to ship work, we encourage you to be prepared to ship soon after notification.
ENTRY FEES:
One-time, non-refundable entry fee for submissions: $27 for one entry, $37 for two entries, and $47 for three entries.
HOW TO ENTER:
1. Only one image for 2-D work and up to 4 images for sculptural work are permitted.
2. Uploaded images of artwork should be of good quality and exclude the frame. These images will be used by the juror and in our printed program. Image requirements:
– Images file size must be at least 2 MB and no larger than 6MB
– The shortest size must be a minimum of 1000 pixels
– File formats allowed .jpg, .png, or .gif
4. Prior to uploading, PLEASE! re-name the image file to the following format: FirstName_LastName_Title. We use your image files in our catalog and online gallery – this helps us a great deal!
5. The TITLE field will automatically fill in with file-name of your uploaded photo. PLEASE EDIT THIS FIELD! Delete your first and last names and ensure that only the TITLE of the piece as you would like it to appear in the Program and Pin list is entered. The title can be seen by the juror – in order to blind jury, your name must not be included.
6. Dimension Field:
– 2-D work: Enter the outer frame dimensions
– 3D work: Enter H-W-D
NOTE: If fewer than 5 pieces are received in any given category, no award will be issued. We will do our best to re-categorize the work.

JUROR
Scott Prior lives and works in Northampton, Massachusetts, where he has been a resident since 1971. Born in Exeter, New Hampshire, he received a BFA in printmaking from the University of Massachusetts in 1971.
He has artwork in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the DeCordova Museum, the Danforth Museum, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Rose Art Museum and other major public and private collections. He has shown extensively in one-person and group shows in the United States and abroad. In 2001 he had a mid-career retrospective at the DeCordova Museum.
Scott Prior is represented by the Alpha Gallery in Boston and William Baczek Fine Arts in Northampton, MA.
