DESCRIPTION:ON/ OFF THE WHEEL\nTuesdays June 9th – 30th 6PM -9PM (4 Week Session)\nInstructor: Nayda A. Cuevas www.naydacuevasart.com\nAges: 16yrs + \nTuition: $210 \nBecome a member and receive a 10% discount on all classes.  \nJoin Nayda for an engaging pottery course that builds on the fundamentals of wheel throwing. In this class\, you’ll explore how to incorporate texture\, shapes\, and sculpture into your thrown pieces. Designed for intermediate students seeking guidance\, you’ll learn essential techniques in throwing\, surface design\, and glazing to create artistic\, functional\, and sculptural works. This class offers the perfect blend of independence and instruction\, providing constructive feedback to enhance your pottery practice. Come ready to expand your creativity! \n Includes 25 lbs of clay\, the firing of your work\, and access to 6 hrs of open studio time per week!  Additional clay may be purchased for $68 per 25lb bag\, which includes bisque\, fire\, and glaze.  \nAbout the Instructor: \nNayda A. Cuevas was born in Puerto Rico. She obtained a BFA in Fine Art (2002) from Stetson University in Deland FL and her MFA in Visual Arts (2015) at Lesley College of Art (Former Art Institute of Boston) in Cambridge\, MA. Ms. Cuevas has exhibited Internationally: Fitchburg Art Museum\, Fitchburg MA; Museo de Arte de Caguas\, Caguas PR; Palazzo Ca’Zanardi\, Venice\, Italy; Mattatuck Museum\, CT; The Clemente Center Abrazo Interino Gallery\, New York\, NY. Has been an Artist in Residence at The Nobles and Greenough School in Dedham MA\, MASS MoCA/Assetts for Artist in North Adams\, MA  \nSmall class enrollment is limited to 8 students\, so students can get plenty of instructor assistance.  \nNOTE: We strive to make programming accessible to all ages\, abilities\, and income levels.
