Awards will be announced at 3 pm\, featuring over $5\,000 in prizes and including a $1\,000 Best in Show Award. A combination of instruction and hands-on practice in these monthly workshops will help you develop fundamental drawing techniques\, experiment with different media\, and strengthen your artistic foundation. \nThrough exercises that help us see differently\, experiment\, and play\, we’ll explore ways to express ourselves and make unexpected and original drawings. Emphasis in this class will be on having fun– not technical accuracy or expertise. All levels of experience with drawing are welcome and encouraged– especially beginners. \nDepending on the week\, we may be drawing still life’s\, clothed models\, or nude models. Because there may be nude models this class is for adults 18 and older.  \nCome to one or join us regularly and build your drawing practice! \nMaterials Required/ Please come to class with these tools:\nCharcoal\nLarge pad of newsprint\nKneaded eraser\nChamois cloth \nSee Tickets below for listed sessions. Each class will focus on a fun\, creative process inspired by traditional art techniques\, allowing students to expand their artistic horizons and discover new ways to express themselves. \n\n\n\nAugust 13th |Mexican Folk Art: In this project\, we will explore the rich tradition of Mexican folk art through a vibrant investigation of color and collage. Drawing inspiration from regional crafts such as papel picado\, alebrijes\, huichol beadwork\, and traditional embroidery\, students will use layering\, texture\, and bold palettes to create mixed-media artworks that reflect the cultural significance and visual storytelling found in Mexican folk practices. Emphasis will be placed on color symbolism\, pattern\, and the expressive potential of collage as a medium\n\n\n\n  \n

They’ll create their own mini Bento box designs using craft materials\, exploring the art of presentation and cultural storytelling through food.
