Youth Classes


Our professional art instructors teach in a friendly, and relaxed environment. Class emphasis is always on the individual student’s creative development and growth with courses for adults and young adults with all skill levels and experience.

Pollock in the Park…ing Lot!
Friday, June 23rd, 10am-1pm

Pollack in the ParkLet’s start this summer getting messy! Come splatter, drip, flick, and pour paint onto canvas in the style of Jackson Pollock! Meet us in the parking lot across the street from Workshop13 (behind the library) and make sure to wear your painting clothes! We supply the canvas and paint!


Essential Oils Make-N-Take for Kids!

Essential Oils for KidsHey Kids! Learn the benefits of using essential oils with educator Kerri Mahn. Kids will come home with two concoctions they have made themselves. A roll-on Happy Stick and a Poop Spray (for the toilet) during the first workshop on 6/28 and for the back to school workshop on 8/16 a Get it Done roll-on and Lemony Hand Scrub.


Paint-n-Sip-Slushies for Little Kids!
Saturday,  July 1st, 10am-11am
Ages: 3yrs-7yrs

Paint-n-sip Slushies for Little KidsIn this workshop we will use a tape resist to paint your name on canvas! Then you’ll use all your favorite colors to paint the canvas. While you are waiting for the paint to dry, we’ll head to the kitchen to have a real fruit slushy. Then back to the art room to reveal your name!

Ages: 8+

Paint-n-Sip Rootbeer Floats for KidsYoung artists will learn about value scales while painting this View from the Ocean Floor. Each painting will be different as students choose their favorite sea creature to silhouette. Dolphins, turtles, sharks or an octopus! While we are waiting for the background paint to dry you’ll get to enjoy a rootbeer float!

Saturday, August 5th, 1pm-3:30pm

Paint-n-Sip Rootbeer Floats for Kids End of Summer SunsetYoung artists will paint this super cool end of summer sunset on canvas! Not a horse fan? No problem! Each one will be different as students can choose from a variety of silhouettes to add to their painting. While you are waiting for the background paint to dry you’ll get to enjoy a root beer float!


Slime Make-N-Take!

Slime Make-N-TakeJoin in the latest craze and create some slime! Leave the mess at the studio! We’ll make different types of gooey slime and clean it all up too!

Tween and Teen TuesdaysEvery Tuesday evening this summer we will host a tween/teen meetup where students can share and make art!  This class will be student run with adult supervision. We have lots of art supplies you can use, but you’ll want to bring your sketchbooks!

Family Jam with Ricardo!
Wednesdays, starting  June 21st, 7pm-8pm
$10/p or $30 family, drop-in, all ages welcome!

Family Jam with RicardoYou will love making music with Brazilian native Ricardo Frota! He’s an awesome musician, instrument maker, and educator! Ricardo will bring a variety of music makers, from drums to homemade sound machines, but you are also welcome to bring your own instruments.

Basic Drawing for Big Kids with Roc Goudreau
Dates: July 3rd, 5th, 6th & 7th and/or
August 14th,15th,16th & 17th
Time: 9am-10:30am
Target age: 10+
Class limit: 8 students

Basic Drawing for Big Kids with Roc GoudreauThis class provides first-time/beginner students with a solid foundation in drawing. Working with pencil and charcoal, students learn to use line, value, gesture and perspective. Students also learn to develop the ability to “see” as artists. The class works with a variety 
of subjects including still life and landscape.



Dates:  July 10th-14th
Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
Target age: 9+
Class limit: 12 students
Tuition: $290 week, extended day 8am-5:30pm  add $10 day

Fun with FibersCampers will explore the wonder world of fiber arts during this weeklong camp! Batik pillows, needle and wet felting, shibori, and silkscreening are a few things that will keep us busy all week!

Bring: Snacks, lunch and water bottle.  We will take our art outside when possible and  walk to Grenville Park for recess every day!



Dates:  July 31-Aug 4th
Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
Target age: 6-9yrs
Class limit: 10 students
Tuition: $290 week, extended day 8am-5:30pm  add $10 day

Art in NatureWe will be heading outdoors to Grenville Park often during this camp! Kids will learn about Andy Goldsworthy and experiment with printmaking, nature mandalas, weaving, dendritic prints, the Fibonacci sequence, and just taking time to appreciate the beauty around us!

Bring: Snacks, lunch and water bottle.  We will take our art outside when possible and  walk to Grenville Park every day!



Dates: July 24-28th
Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
Target age: 9+
Class limit: 12 students
Tuition: $290 week , $125/2 days, $65 single day, extended day 8am-5:30pm add $10/day

Each day we will offer a different art medium or method for campers to explore.  Day or weeklong options. Try felting, watercolor painting, papermache’ mask making, and stained glass! See below.

Bring: Snacks, lunch and water bottle.  We will take our art outside when possible and  walk to Grenville Park for recess every day!

Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
Target age: 7+, there will be 2 groups based on age
Class limit: 12 students
Tuition: $290 week,extended day 8am-5:30pm add $10/day

Art ExplorationCampers will get to try a wide variety of art mediums during this week of camp! Printmaking (older kids will do a lino cut, younger kids will do foam boards), scratchboard, sculpture, photo transferring and jewelry making are a few things that will keep us busy in this fun filled week!




Faux Stained GlassFaux Stained glass! Its faux because we won’t be using a soldering iron, however we will be using glass, lead strips and glass paints. You’ll get to design your own stained glass based on a sketch you bring in, or a pattern supplied. You’re welcome to bring in a window, or we will supply the glass 11 x 14 that you can hang in your window.



Needle and wet felting
Needle and wet felting! Wet felt around a resist to make these adorable creepy creatures! Campers will learn how to work with different wool fibers to create both flat and 3d objects.



Watercolor Wednesday

We will spend the day exploring different watercolor techniques and weather permitting it will be OUTSIDE! We’ll bring our boards and paints and head down to Grenville to a nice spot on the river.




Paper Mache' mask making
Paper Mache’ mask making! Make your own mask for Halloween or just a mask to adorn your walls! You will be getting messy with papermache’, chicken wire and acrylic paint. This is a 2 day project.
