This is going to be an awesome workshop! Have you always wanted to take a pastels class but felt you’d be lost because you don’t know the first thing about it. Part of you is like ‘sounds great let’s take this class’, then another part says, ‘but I really don’t know the first thing about pastels’. Then you have this inner battle. Kind of like – should I eat the chocolate or not. Well…now you can eat the chocolate!
This is a workshop to teach you everything you need to know about pastels – really! From the value of colors through blending and final treatment.
New classes have been listed on the Workshop13.org website! We’ve heard over and over “Once you take a class you’ll be hooked”. Classes for all ages and at different times of the day. What’s the course you just need to take?

Take charge of your oil paintings. For many artists the under painting is a difficult and elusive part of the oil painting process. Learn to establish a well-proportioned and accurately shaped image without a detailed drawing.
By proceeding from general to specific, starting with proportional gestures and then to blocked in shapes, using only a brush – the artist can arrive at a monochromatic and tonally resolved version of the image. From this point, the painting can proceed to subsequent layers, colors and details.
